I am currently studying a Master of Occupational Therapy at the University of Queensland.
I have had supervised experience working with both paediatric and adult client groups. This includes experience as a support worker for adults with chronic conditions, as well as experience in tutoring younger clients. For my younger clients, I adopted the Orton-Gillingham approach for teaching phonics, which utilises multi-sensory tools for readers who struggle to make connections between letters and their sounds. Both experiences, in addition to my university studies in my Masters of Occuational Therapy, have helped to form my therapeutic approach as a hands-on, problem-solver.
I always endeavour to build rapport and get to know my clients, as I believe this helps us moving forward with planning our therapy sessions and successfully achieving their goals.
