Emilia Kerr

Speech Pathologist Aide

Qualifications

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) at the University of Queensland.

Through university, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a kindergarten, where, under supervision, I conducted screening assessments for speech and language development. I utilised tools like the Preschool Language Scale (PLS) to assess and support children’s communication development. This experience deepened my understanding of early intervention and its importance for young children and their families. In addition, under supervision, I’ve had the chance to work with patients, applying various techniques to address their voice disorders.

My energetic, kind and easy-going nature enables me to create a supportive and nurturing environment for my clients. Whilst I appreciate working with both children and adults, I have a particular interest for helping children overcome speech and language challenges. I look forward to continuing my studies in Speech Pathology and gaining knowledge through my upcoming placements.
