Occupational Therapist

– Bachelor of Science Degree (Honours) in Occupational Therapy, University of Brighton – Post Graduate Diploma in Sensory Integration, University of Ulster

I am from the United Kingdom where I worked as a Clinical Specialist/Team Lead Paediatric Occupational Therapist.

Enabling children to reach their full potential and get the most out of life is my goal as an Occupational Therapist (OT). I thoroughly enjoy working with children, their families, and with schools, in problem solving and finding solutions to aid functional performance. I implement a range of approaches when assessing and treating children, which I tailor to each child’s individual needs.

My experience includes working with 0-19 year olds with diagnoses including: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Coordination Disorder (Dyspraxia), intellectual difficulties, Handwriting Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), and degenerative, genetic and other neurological conditions.

I have also completed additional training in sensory integration therapy, postural management, equipment provision, hand therapy and splinting, handwriting, and approaches to working with children with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD).

Alongside my paediatric role I worked in a rehabilitation hospital delivering therapy to adults with neurological diagnoses, including stroke and acquired brain injury. Additionallly, I have worked as an OT in aged care (both hospital and community settings), the emergency department, hospital-based medical rehabilitation, and in trauma orthopaedics.
