Linda Smith

Speech Pathologist

– Bachelor of Speech Pathology, Southern Cross University

I provide Speech Pathology services in Queensland and interstate to children, adults and families across suburban, rural and remote locations, both in person and via telehealth. I have experience working with clients aged under two years to 102+ years.

I conduct assessments and provide family education and individualised therapy to children with developmental delays, speech and language disorders, swallowing, stuttering (dysfluency), Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), apraxia, learning disabilities, intellectual impairments and a variety of medical diagnoses. I strive to provide enjoyable sessions that are engaging and effective for the child and their carers, using evidence-based, client-centred approaches to support achievement of their goals. I believe a positive approach to therapy plays a big role in a child’s continued participation and attitude towards intervention sessions.

I provide assessments and intervention for adults in their homes and residential aged care facilities, and in health clinics. I have experience working with people who have a variety of diagnoses including traumatic brain injury, voice deficits, swallowing issues (dysphagia), dementia, Down Syndrome, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, stroke, dysarthria, aphasia, group therapy, cognitive communication disorders, and alternative and augmentative communication methods such as communication boards and electronic devices. I enjoy working with elderly clients, their partners and carers to provide evidence-based and person-centred care with patience, compassion and respect.
