Lydia Collins

Speech Pathologist Aide

Qualifications

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Undergraduate) at Australian Catholic University.

I am a passionate allied health student with a natural drive to help others in need, while building meaningful connections. My previous supervised experience with paediatrics has allowed me to work in public and private businesses, schools, kindergartens, homes and online, to administer assessments and therapy. Throughout my studies and life I have grown a natural and genuine passion for working in paediatrics and hope to continue throughout my future profession. I have completed Hanen training and am able to conduct Hanen based programs in therapy, when appropriate.

In regards to my experience working with adults in the Speech Pathology area, I have attended a placement at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in the rehabilitation ward and a remote speech therapy service in Brisbane. I gained supervised experience in assessing and providing therapy for clients with dysphagia, apraxia, aphasia and cognitive difficulties. I learnt a wide range of skills and made strong connections with all my clients.
