Michelle Halloran

Speech Pathologist

Qualifications

– Masters of Speech Pathology, Charles Sturt University
– Bachelor of Business, Charles Sturt Univeristy

In 2019, I began a mid-career transition to become a Speech Pathologist, after spending 25 years in sales and marketing, working in both the public and private sector. I have spent the last two years working at SPOT4YOU & SPOT4KIDS as an Allied Health Assistant, delivering speech therapy to children in primary schools and high schools throughout the Illawarra area. This provided the perfect foundation to apply my theoretical knowledge while completing a Master of Speech Pathology at Charles Sturt University.

University placements provided an opportunity for me to work with children and adults with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties, across hospitals, schools, in-clinic, group homes, residential, disability and aged-care settings. I am very passionate about supporting people’s communication skills to improve participation in social interaction and enhance the quality of life for all my clients. I plan to specialise in providing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) support to clients who would benefit from this communication support and will complete further training in this area of Speech Pathology.

I am committed to providing Speech Pathology assessment and intervention services using evidence-based practices and collaborating with experienced clinicians within the SPOT4YOU & SPOT4KIDS team, to provide high quality speech pathology services to all our clients and families.
