I have recently moved to Queensland from Ireland and am very excited to be providing services to SPOT4YOU & SPOT4KIDS. I qualified in Ireland in 2012 and shortly after moved to the United Kingdom where I began my career in Occupational Therapy. I worked within a variety of settings including adult community reablement, inpatient older adult rehabilitation and acute hospital care. My role often involved supporting clients to, where possible, return to engaging in their everyday activities following illness or injury. This may have included techniques such as mobility training, transfer practice, the use of adaptive equipment and education and support. I very much enjoyed my role as I had the opportunity to see people regain their confidence and be able to do the things that were important to them in life.

I have also had the opportunity to work within paediatric school settings, both in the United Kingdom and Ireland. I have worked with children with diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Coordination Disorder. Areas of support often included self-care skills, handwriting, play development, mobility and leisure exploration. Working with children and families is my passion. Having three young children of my own, I can sincerely appreciate the importance of early years development. I strive to be client centred and support families within the context of their lives and what is meaningful to them. I have keen interests in play development and will always work to be evidence based within my practice. I have also recently completed studies in digital healthcare strategies and its use within community healthcare.
